The Role of Gamification in Employee Engagement and Performance

 Introduction Gamification or the application of game design elements in contexts other than games has become an important tool in human resource management in recent decades. Many organizations today try to increase employees' engagement, motivation, and ultimately better performance through the use of gamification techniques. Companies seek to make mundane tasks more engaging through the integration of points, badges, leaderboards, and challenges into workplace activities. This is done through intrinsic and extrinsic motivators that drive behavioral modification toward productivity and a positive organizational culture.
